All the news and reports are straight from the official celtic website.

O'Neill set for Euro test. Martin O'Neill is looking forward to putting off-field headaches to one side and kicking Celtic's off Champions League campaign.

O'Neill is hoping that his side can repeat some of the away form that was on display throughout last season's UEFA Cup run.

"We are playing one of the premier sides in European football so it's going to take a monumental effort to get something from the game," said O'Neill.

"I think that our away record last season certainly stands up to decent inspection and it was terrific. We may need all of that and more to get something from the game tomorrow night.

Bayern lifted the Champions League in 2001, but couldn't recapture that form last season and finsihed at the bottom of Group G after the initial group stages.

"Bayern Munich took their eye off proceedings last season and didn't qualify for the group stages and that was a big shock to everyone in European football. The fact that they will be totally focused will be bad news for the rest of the group, but we'll go strongly and have some very good players.

"We will be positive and go to attack and defend as well as we can when we have to. The players are looking forward to the game and so am I absolutely.''

Stan and deliver. Stilian Petrov has insisted that Celtic need to dismiss all injury problems and concentrate on the task of getting the Champions League campaign off to a decent start.

Influential captain Paul Lambert will miss the game because of an ankle injury while Stephen Crainey and Ulrik Laursen are also sidelined. Joos Valgaeren has not played since the 2-1 win against Partick Thistle more than three weeks ago while the game will come too early for Johan Mjallby.

Petrov, however, has maintained that Celtic cannot afford to focus too much on what is not avaialble.

He explained: "We've got a lot of injuries but I heard that they have a lot of injuries as well. Not only is Paul crucial to our team but the others who are out are also crucial, but we've always had injury problems and dealt with them and we'll do that again.

"It doesn't matter who is or isn't injured. We have to be prepared and try and take the maximum from the game. Everybody knows about their players, they're a good team and they've shown that they can do well in the German League and in Europe. We'll be going for a victory as we always do and we'll see what happens.

O'Neill backs Lennon. Martin O’Neill has hit back in the row over Neil Lennon’s hand signal at Dens Park by speaking out against the concerted campaign of abuse which continues to be meted out to the Irish midfielder at away grounds.
While making it abundantly clear that he in no way condones Lennon’s actions, the Celtic boss evidently considers the former Leicester midfielder’s treatment at the hands of opposition fans entirely unjustified.

Indeed, he went as far as to claim that, rather than objecting to Lennon’s style of play or appearance, those attacking him are motivated only by religious bigotry.

O'Neill told the Celtic website: “Neil Lennon is abused at every single ground in Scotland. I can understand it at Ibrox – I’ve often said it goes with the territory there – but I cannot for the life of me tell you why he gets it at Pittodrie, Dens Park, Fir Park and the rest. I can only assume it’s because of his origins.
